Two field experiments were carried out at the Research Farm of Nasser’s Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, University of Aden (Delta Tuban) Lahej Governorate, during two seasons 2017/2018 and 2018/2019, to study the effect of three sowing dates (6/11, 6/12 and 6/1) and three plant densities (56, 67 and 83 thousand plant/Ha) on the growth and yield characteristics of maize. The experiments were performed in split-plot design with three replications. The results could be summarized that the first sowing date (6 November), significantly surpassed, was higher in all growth traits compared to the late sowing date (6 January) in both seasons. The increase in plant density to 83 thousand plants/ha resulted in a significant increase in growth traits, except for stem diameter and leaf area which was decreased in both seasons. The interaction between sowing dates and plant density significantly affected all the studied traits.

Surgery is sometimes a necessary and inevitable solution because it is the only resort for healing, and surgical intervention is a routine matter for the medical staff, but it may be a terrifying specter for the patient, especially the one who undergoes it for the first time as a result of the physiological and biological imbalances that occur to the patient and as a result of the damage caused by it. This study aimed at measuring the death anxiety among patients who are about to undergo surgery. This is a descriptive study with (62) patients were admitted in the Surgical Department at Al-Gamhoria Teaching Hospital and \(22^{nd}\) May Hospital in Aden Governorate, who were targeted with a self-administered questionnaire applied for this purpose in the period from 22/06/2021 until 21/09/2021. Each questionnaire statement was given a weight (1: Yes, or 0: No) to estimate the significance of the statement, these weights are reflected in the levels of death anxiety, and for interpretation of the arithmetic means, the degree of presence of those levels were judged according to the following scale: (1- 16) degree is a weak level of death anxiety, (17- 33) degree is a moderate level of death anxiety, and (34- 50) degree there is a highly level of death anxiety. Around two thirds of the patients reported a moderate level of preoperative death anxiety. Death anxiety was reported more high by female patients, and those in the age group 60 and more, amongst illiterate and primary education patients, and with patients of gynecologic and orthopedic surgeries. In this study, the preoperative death anxiety was high among female patients, in the age group 60 and more, amongst illiterate and primary education patients, and with patients of gynecologic and orthopedic surgeries. The current study recommended that patients need to be assessed regularly for anxiety during the preoperative visit and appropriate anxiety reduction methods should be introduced through mental and psyche health professionals.

Glycine zinc sulfate (GZS) single crystals pure and doped with copper were grown by the slow evaporation of aqueous solutions at constant temperature (307 K). Cu/Zn molar ratios were 1%, 2% and 3% in the growth solutions. The optical reflectance was measured for pure and doped crystals (GZS:Cu) and it was used to calculate several optical and dielectric parameters. The direct optical band gap energy was found to be 5.44 eV for pure GZS crystal and it decreased as Cu/Zn molar ratio increased. The band tailing was studied for GZS:Cu crystals by using Urbach relation. The normal dispersion was investigated for GZS:Cu crystals by using both Wemplee–Di-Domenico and Cauchy-Sellmaier models. The real and imaginary parts of the complex dielectric constant of GZS:Cu crystals were calculated. Urbach parameters, normal dispersion parameters and dielectric parameters of GZS:Cu crystals were calculated in the present work for the first time. It was found that doping GZS crystal, with copper, affects the values of its optical and dielectric parameters and improves its electrical conduction.

Chitosan is a natural polymer that is very common in many applications. In addition, Nicotine is a natural dye. To prepared Chitosan Nicotine (CN) layer we mix (1: 1) ratios from the Chitosan doping with Nicotine dye. After that, it is used as an active layer in solar cells. The morphology of the surface for the prepared layer is studied by scanning electron microscopy technique (SEM). From this study, We found that the surface of Chitosan could be more regular when it dopant with Nicotine than being a lone. The optical properties of samples were studied from UV-Visible spectra at wavelengths 300-900 nm. The analysis of optical measurements data showed that the absorbance increased after mixing the Chitosan with Nicotine. The parameters of solar cell were calculated within the voltage range (1-12Volt) and noted that the Short Circuit Current (JSC =1.6x10-3) mA/cm2, Open Circuit Voltage (VOC =7x10-2) V, Fill Factor (FF=0.51), Series Resistance (RS= 60) Ω and Shunt Resistance (Rsh= 250) Ω.were noted.
